Hello Dolphin Families

Welcome Fall! To say that I am glad that the summer months are behind us is an understatement. I am a native Floridian, but I have NEVER gotten used to this disrespectful Florida heat. Some of you may have moved here because of the warmer weather, nearby beaches, or short distance to the theme parks. Maybe it was the fact of not having to worry about plowing snow. Whatever your reason for being here is, I'm glad that you're here.
As we approach the holiday season, think of ways that you can possibly help support other families within our community. Our pantry is in the very early stages. I will publish a wish list for items to be used at various times throughout the year. Be on the lookout for Food Drive Days. If you are a family who is in need of resources, please reach out to me. Hopefully, we can find a solution together. We have three months left in 2025! Let's make the best of it.

Resiliency

Florida is leading a first-in-the state approach that empowers students to persevere and overcome the inevitable challenges that life brings. The Florida Department of Education developed standards and resources to equip students with skills that build resiliency. This month, the skill is Honesty - Telling the Truth. Testing? Now what?

The first round of testing has been successfully completed. Kudos to you, parents and caregivers, for ensuring that students received adequate sleep, breakfast, and arrived on time. Testing can be stressful for some students. Some may even experience anxiety. I remember my middle daughter missing her first day of kindergarten. I never would have thought that it was because she had anxiety. Adequate sleep, a balanced breakfast, and arriving to school on time all play a factor in reducing a child's level of stress during the day. (Too much sleep is almost as bad as not enough sleep). Please review your child's testing results. We will have two Family Assessments Nights, one in the Fall and one in the Spring. This will be a time for you to gather information on your students FAST Assessments. We still have two more testing cycles.
Be on the lookout for the Family Assessment Nights and plan to attend.
